Marketing + publicity of YA has really just tanked. I'm shocked there was virtually *nothing* about THE SECRET ASTRONOMERS last fall. It's incredible! It's GORGEOUS. It's fresh, voicey and centers Appalachia and a Deaf main character and a mystery and an emerging friendship. It's epistolary.

Saw Hamnet and my takeaway is that whenever a movie has a very talented child actor I'm like "great job but shouldn't you be learning the multiplication tables?"

Have seen much discussion of the increasing trend of romantasy books that started life as a fanfic but no one else has pointed out how the ones that are supposed to be the first in a series always just kind of. end. without a real climax because they weren't intended to be multiple volumes.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Reading a fantasy novel set in an alternate version of England and am baffled by the number of reviews on Goodreads saying the worldbuilding is confusing. Guys that's a actual country…Kent is a real place…Wessex and Mercia also used to exist…

Knowing that the voice actors for Fjord and Jester on The Mighty Nein are married IRL is so funny. What we we role-played falling in love again but one of us was blue and Eastern European and the other was green and Texan this time around?

Christmas this year has been, shall we say, less than a wonderful time, but the two saving graces have been 1. Heated Rivalry finale which made me believe love is real actually and 2. making my family watch The Lion in Winter so they understand why I am Like That about the Plantagenet Dynasty

As a very tired bookseller staggering through the last week before Christmas I must admit the latest episode of Heated Rivalry is a large amount of what’s currently shoring up my mental stability

I can only be what I am (an enthusiast for The Lion in Winter and all toxic drama which lies within its 2 hours and 14 min runtime)

The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

Weirdly happy that the TV adaptation of The Other Bennet Sister is keeping the fact that Mary Bennet wears glasses…idk, I just feel like it's a very common thing that rarely gets seen in romance stories, especially period dramas?
