Libraries and stuff, probably.
A new gay icon has emerged for Pride.
@elliot-dw.bsky.social: “Who is that?”
Me: “She was the damsel in distress in the original Donkey Kong, but they girl-powered her up. By making her a mayor. And also a jazz singer.”
E: “Well, Pauline might be my whole personality now. I love Pauline.”

My morning: spend 30 minutes writing a pymarc script to do something, it doesn't work, I get frustrated for a few minutes, and then realize I could have just done the thing with MarcEdit to begin with.

It is very funny that my partner @thebaylorj.bsky.social now works in libraries too, so I get to hear him talk about MARC character encoding on conference calls, while I am separately updating records that have mangled diacritics. 😂

I've been reading @askamanager.org daily for years, and my number 1 biggest takeaway is: if someone is doing something you don't like/not doing something you need them to, tell them. Feels so obvious, but it's something I remind myself regularly.

Tbh, I still kind of think this about Texans.
My partner is from New Mexico and he told me that New Mexico people believe Texas is their rival and that Texans are loud, boorish rhinestone cowboys who can’t drive and are rude obnoxious tourists and I told him that Texans think New Mexico is just the state to the west.
Was having dinner with some friends who moved here from the Bay Area and was reminded that the Bay Area has this thing where they see themselves in this rivalry with Southern California and there are anti-SoCal advertisements and memes and people in Southern California are totally oblivious

Well, I've been on this app for less than 24 hours, and it has already let me know about a new book in a series I love (a new Southern Reach novel!), so that's pretty cool.
