Idk if this is just what the algorithm is showing specifically me, or if it is representative more broadly of who uses Threads, but the little things on my IG feed where it tries to get me to click over to content on Threads have sure been full of people breathlessly defending the Wicked movies.

There are many possible turning points that could have kept us off the road to the Where We Are Now, but an under-discussed one is the Obama admin's decision to feed the newly-formed Bush-era DHS federal police/surveillance apparatus instead of smothering it in the cradle.

I mean, I know I do not under any circumstances "gotta hand it to em," but I actually do think it might be true that the Sysco-ification of major restaurant supply chains and the move to minimum-viable-product industrial agriculture has made chain pizza observably worse than it was 25 years ago.

One thing that the rise of AI “art” has revealed to me is that “theory of mind” is evidently not a universal human thought process, and many of the people who don’t have it are among the most powerful and influential people in the world.
i genuinely get frightened at how absolutely ape joe rogan goes for AI music. he makes that funk face and bops along staring at every guest while he plays it for them. it scares me to think there are legions of him
completely artless, ignorant hogs who only socialize with other artless, ignorant hogs in 1% wealth social circles, suggesting everyone wants a robot that can take over creating art for them so they can optimize their productive workday. this is the pitch.

I ordered one of these for my partner’s birthday and was a little worried about how all the little spindly bits would hold up in international shipping, but I can confirm that Rose’s very thorough wrapping gets the job done.
The long awaited time lapse of how i wrap my tentacle pots for shipping! Lots of bubblewrap around all the limbs then layered up to make a big ball and then secured in the box with paper all around!
