I bought a bunch of plywood for $1 a sheet!
I have been holding back on making stuff because I'm paralyzingly afraid of wasting materials. I don't have to worry now! I can mess up as many times as I need to!
It is so liberating to realize that I'm not going to get yelled at for wasting materials.

I haven't posted anything in a while due to being exhausted from working 2 jobs. I took a day off to take my youngest to her ACT test this morning so I get to relax for 4 hours, just winding floss onto bobbins and listening to the radio, maybe take a nap. We will see! #cross-stitch #relax

Reason 1 why I grid my fabric: I make mistakes when counting but gridding makes it easier to catch my mistakes, quicker. A day of gridding saves me many, many hours of frogging and frustration.
I was off by 10 squares below, but I only got 8 stitches in before I realized I was off.

Just got into an argument with my oldest daughter about my garden I'm working on. She said "no one is forcing you to do this" which is technically true. But I am preparing for when we can no longer afford fresh veggies at the store when the tariffs hit us. She doesn't understand how bad it will get.

Whenever I am missing you, I bring out this candle just to smell it. I don't light it because I don't want the comfort I get from it to fade away. It smells exactly like you so I keep it close when we are far apart.

My peppers decided they were done growing in the bathroom. It's time to transplant them to cups, a week early though but I have no choice now.

My seedlings are coming along nicely. Peppers are starting to pop up but my lettuce is struggling a bit. After this rain, I can get a few more boxes out and into the yard, getting the garden ready has been back breaking work... But it'll be worth it in the end.

My seedlings are coming along very nicely. I've moved some old dressers into the yard and will be using them as raised garden beds. I'm going to fill them up with yard waste and soil on top.

I'm afraid of the state that the US is heading towards right now. Everything's so expensive that even working 2 jobs 7 days a week doesn't cut it. I'm going to grow my own victory garden even if I get into trouble with my landlord. But I'll be damned if I let my family fall. We will survive.

Do you know what sucks? Having an okayish paying job but still living paycheck to paycheck and I cannot leave my job due to the uncertainty of the economy in the next few months. If it does crash, I might be able to afford more than a shit hole of a house next year.
