I post about movies, stuff I do like art and making mounts to hold fragile old things, random life stuff I think is clever, and sometimes life advice from a trans man
"Fire City: End of Days" (2015)

I had hoped this would be a film like "Constantine" ('05) filled with an epic battle between good & evil. What I got instead was a latex filled slog of a 'bad guy turned good' origin story. Not based on a comic, book or other movie. "B" for a unique concept tho

"Pumpkin head: Ashes to Ashes" (2006)

Watch the first Pumpkin head, & ONLY that one & call it good. A mild attempt to incorporate headlines from the time, into a cult favored mythos, using a couple horror heavy hitters (L. Hendricksen & D. Bradley aka Pinhead). Made me angry at the lost potential

"Margaux" (2022)

Pretty formulaic, with the traditional horror friends clique, that has been updated to add the 'influencer'. Begs the ?, where does homage to previous horror staples start, & where does just a mishmash of cultural references so old the directors hoped we wouldn't notice, begin?

"There's Something in the Barn" (2023)

If you liked "Trollhunter" ('11), or "Rare Exports" ('10) this is the holiday appropriate film for you. While it may not be as unhinged as "Unwelcome" ('24) it's thematically similar. Norwegian fae folk clashing with a new family that just moved in. Fun

Took a bit of digging, but finally found my old Bobbie whistle to put on my keys.

"Warlock: The Armageddon" (1993)
The OG of the spiritual Armageddon films. Starring, one of my early crushes, Julian Sands. Not necessarily a follow up to the original film, more like a continuation. But holy moly, I forgot how gory this film was. I'm not sure if I should applaud the FX crew or not

This Yule's novelty gift(s).

"A Very Pagan Christmas" (2024)
An unhinged look at the origins of X-mas traditions, narrated by AI, with visuals by Midjourney. You're in for a treat with not only too little or too many fingers, things on fire that shouldn't be, and other AI shenanigans such as folx heads' dropping off. Fun 4 all

"Cannibal Mukbang" (2025)
I went in to this thinking it would be a playful romp with glossy k*lls & a tongue in cheek ref to online culture. Which it was....but. Instead I got a manic pixie dream girl crossed with the Metoo movement's red right hand. Supposedly "comedy-horror". I didn't see that

Today's current hyperfocus: properly making Turkish Delight candies

Two gens down, almost got it. Will regroup & try again tomorrow

"Good Boy" (2025)
Not to be confused by the other two movies of the same name (one is for families, the other....not). A very gore free film that portrays the horror of being a dog witnessing the creepiness their person only gets a bare glimpse of. Bundle up with your furry one and enjoy!

"Succubus" (2024)
If sexy time makes you uncomfortable, maybe best to sit this one out. A classic tale about a man who gets ensnared by a succubus, but with a modern twist. Low budget, but well done despite this.

What? No Esperanto? See: "Incubus" (1966)

"Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story" (2025)
This is a very slow moving horror thriller that follows up on the madness of the original Dracula story, many years later. Set in the hills of old west California, with only a few technical questions to avoid such as how did they get electricity?

"Companion" (2025)
When you mix AI with the human need for attention, it never turns out well. Some nods to heavyweight pioneers in the genre such as "Stepford Wives" ('04) and "A.I." ('01). The next logical progression in our relationship evolution

"No Country for Old Men" (2007)
This was more a rewatch as I think I saw it back in the day when the Coen Bro. were hot sh*t. I really only cared about this guy and his creative uses of compressed air, TBH. But a fun thing to watch while working on chores/ projects

"The Serpent and the Rainbow" ('88)
The nightmare scene with the corpse bride in the cemetery. That and the glass eating scene
November 9, 2025 at 1:13 AM
Just got done uploading photos from an old abandoned rubber plant on Patreon. Some of them were used in the 'making of' content on the DVD for the movie "The Shadow Walkers". Of course they got my name wrong, and my copy of the DVD I scored on clearance at Blockbuster got loaned out & never returned

"Sew Torn" (2024)
A seamstress trapped by memories, unravels in this very "Groundhog Day" style crime tale. Come for the Rube Goldberg thread contraptions, stay for the cathartic dancing to a song about sewing machines. Exemplifies why I never dealt with brides to be

And complete

King of the Damned Diadem

I don't really take myself that seriously, but I do like to be dramatic for effect sometimes

May make another, different one, as I have supplies to do so
