I honestly don’t know. I think that they know that their voter base isn’t that interested in politics or current affairs and probably doesn’t know about Bamford’s ‘alleged’ slipperiness, or they just think that they’re thick, or both…

That particular lamp is marked “DB” which is not the company I work for 😁

It’s the red light that goes on the last wagon or carriage of a train. The original meaning of this was to indicate to the Signaller that train was complete as it passed his Signal Box. If he didn’t see it, he would assume that the train had split. The line would then be stopped and inspected.
