Yorkshireman. Train Driver. Coffee

Mostly photos of trains I’ve driven and the railway I work on, especially the old bits that really should be in a museum. And other things.

Well, if you’re going to be delayed you might as well be delayed in Prosser and Peachey’s magnificent 1877 train shed

I’m the same. It’ll be bang on when I take it at home, sky high when the nurse does it.

Well, that medical I did a couple of weeks ago was ‘wrong’ apparently, so I had to go today and do it all again.

I still believed
I still wasn’t sure
I still clicked

I still passed ✅

I need coffee ☕️☕️☕️
Medical passed ✅

It’s MkIV time. On the cushions from Doncaster to Peterborough, coffee and a comfy seat. Get em while you can!

Before anymore Americans reply to this post, understand I am not American. Most of the world isn’t. I am British, and whilst I’m aware that most of the world isn’t British either, our next General Election will be in 2029.

That’s when it will be.

Quite. Most unexpected.

Anyway, these things happen…

I think we’ll get along fine 😁

It’s all been very strange!

It will end. Billionaires first, then then rest. People will only take so much. History is full of such tales.

Not MAGAs. They get an instant block.

These were almost exclusively left of centre anti Trump types who misunderstood a post of mine. They presumed I was talking about American politics whereas I am in fact British and was talking about British politics.
February 10, 2026 at 7:43 PM
Sounds very Victorian 😬
February 10, 2026 at 7:35 PM
I think you’re correct. Hopefully that will prove to be the case.

These were replies to a post

It’s up in the air at the moment, although his position is a lot better today than it was yesterday.

I don’t disagree with you, although I don’t know the average American well enough to comment on educational standards. I will take your word for it tho, as it’s not the first time I’ve heard it.

It’s a shame. It could be so much better.

I’m sure you’re fine. Keep reading. We never stop learning 👍

Oh, don’t get me wrong. My experience of this place is overwhelmingly positive.

There have been a couple of strange episodes tho.
February 10, 2026 at 6:59 PM
Not in this case unfortunately. The respondents were almost exclusively left of centre anti Trump. They just totally misunderstood the context of my post. It was about British politics not American.

The type you’re referring to get an instant block.
February 10, 2026 at 6:51 PM
It’s the automatic assumption that everyone is American talking about American things that grates.

Of course, in their world that may very well be the case, but they ought to look more closely before replying.

Also, I know that there are many fine American people here too.

I know it’s easy for people to speed read and get the wrong idea, but with only 300 characters you’d think they wouldn’t rush…
