Image Parody of Taylor Swift's new album cover "The Life of A Showgirl."

Glittery Red letters "The Life of a ShakeOut" overlay images of the "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" logos (demonstrating how to stay safe during earthquakes), showing someone getting low to the ground, covering their head and neck and taking cover under a sturdy desk, and holding on to the table."

Another cartoon image shows people following tsunami evacuation routes to high ground.

All images are over a photo of three people practicing "Drop, Cover, and Hold on" under a large sturdy desk.

Good point - glass from windows can also fall into the street, which can be very dangerous. There are times when it is better to duck into a building entrance than stand right outside of it.

Drop, Cover, and Hold On appropriately for your situation

For those heading to see the Mariners or Sounders play tonight: SB I-5 is closed through Kent. 🚨 Expect SIGNIFICANT delays heading south on I-5 or SR 167 in S. King Co.

We anticipate that backups won’t clear up until midnight. Use transit if you can.

We were very pleased to welcome a delegation from Thailand earlier this week to tour our state Emergency Operations Center. We were so happy to learn from them & hope they were able to take back lessons from our own folks on tsunamis, recovery issues, disaster procedures

Today, state building experts are drawing attention to the importance of Unreinforced Masonry Buildings, located all over our state. URM buildings have the most potential to experience collapse and damage during an earthquake.

They created this 3-min video.

The @mariners.com ⚾️clinched the AL West Wednesday for the first time since 2001! 👏

That's the same year that the Nisqually #earthquake shook the Sound!

Coincidence? We think not!!!

(Yeah, it definitely is, but we'll celebrate anyway!)

Yes! We've been hearing from hikers that the last bit of the climb to the summit is mostly ash, which is tricky to walk up, but fun to walk down!

Alaska has similar issues with even older ash. Ash from the 1912 Novarupta volcano eruption at Katmai Volcano still blows around and causes trouble.
