Yo what's up with NTT's node in Chicago just being an absolute *black hole* for any internet traffic going through it? Even when FFXIV isn't getting DDoS'ed as a result of Squeenix's stubborn refusal to shift away from NTT's lackluster US infrastructure I get mountains of packet loss there.

Technology is so cool... I wish it could like, you know, be cool without all the fascistic police state nonsense or capitalism data harvesting. Even AI has the potential to be cool if we use it on the right things (NOT ART) and find a way to use it without killing the planet's ability to host us.

I can eat a New York Strip steak made with beef raised in Australia... But I can't go there to bite my girlfriend who lives there. PLUS Capitalism incentivizes them to not let me live there because me being autistic means I'm just a burden to their taxpayers.

Random Rambling but it's a... Mixed bag being no-contact with basically all of your family. Like it's super neat not having to deal with the bullshit you KNOW they aren't gonna stop... But like, family's kinda a big deal. I miss it sometimes. Even if you hate the gatherings they're still important.
