I look forward to building solidarity so we can protect and empower our community together. I’m grateful to the people we met and built connections with during this election, and I'm thrilled to work alongside you all soon. We ran in the State Senate for the same reason we’re still running for City Council: we have something that deserves to be said, and we have people in our lives who we are fighting for. In these tumultuous times, lived experience, particularly from immigrants and students, is necessary to chart a shared course for all of us." Statement that reads "However, with our newfound experience and momentum, we are refocused on our City Council campaign. Our vision, our drive, and our commitment remain steadfast, and we are ready to take on the race for Ward 3. We will protect and expand Minneapolis' sanctuary protections and keep ICE out of our city. We will continue the work for the North STAR Act at the state legislature." My name is Emilio César Rodríguez, and I'm running to represent Ward 3. I began as an astrophysics and sociology major at the University of Minnesota, but for the past 3 years, I've been fighting for Minnesota immigrants and climate policy. I am a fighter, an organizer, and will not back down.
