Interesting... we are having the exact same issue with Canada Post. I keep thinking the postal workers union needs to bring Amazon and other gig delivery workers into their union to level the playing field (and provide workers with a decent worklife!)

Love this for them.

Like a sucker I've reported a number of clearly exploitive posts on Meta and YouTube and every time I'm informed that there was nothing wrong with the VERY CLEAR deep fake grift. (Most recently a video of the PM telling us which crypto to buy 😂😭).

Oooh, can't wait!

Yup. 😔

My Canadian grocery store has $3.50 for 1 L for the most affordable to $8.50 for the organic glass jar. (That's $2.50 and $6 USD).

I live on an island, so it's probably cheaper off-island, but more expensive up north or in other remote locations.

The 7 am news on CBC had two more examples of things that AI companies should be held legally accountable for. One was deepfakes that caused a senior to be swindled, and the other was an AI toy that talked to kids about violent and sexual content.

WHY IS EVERYONE ACTING LIKE THIS IS EXPECTED?
December 4, 2025 at 6:41 PM
I don't understand why AI is considered "different". AI-generated content should be held accountable to all existing laws. The AI companies should be held accountable, too.

There have been many times in the past year that I was so glad the BC Conservatives weren't in charge of the government. This morning gave me a delightful case of Schadenfreude.

(Not experienced with the other, much more disgraceful events within the party over the course of the year.)

Ah... they're devising their own future torture, where they're stuck in a gilded bunker with nothing to distract them from the guilt of their actions and a significant fear of an inevitable death. Fun!

I'll be out farming "on the surface" with the rebels. 😉

It's not a factor I'd thought about in the AI bubble. Of course, the well-oiled (pun intended) machine of the energy sector would be behind it.

What I don't understand is where they think this all ends? (It's also how I think about MAGA). At some point, it's all going to fall apart.
December 3, 2025 at 10:26 PM
Also, thought of you for this tidbit... Brad listens to a tech podcast.
This week, they talked about how the energy industry (oil/gas/coal) is one of the primary forces pushing AI to governments around the world. AI needs dirty energy to expand, which is why they are pushing aside climate agendas

In all the worry about young men falling behind, with a lot of the blame on young women (for not wanting to date them, cook for them, while stealing their jobs and education), no one seems to blame the stupidity of the manosphere.

Sunning their balls won't make mediocre men more dateable.

True... but thus far no one has been able to hold him fully accountable for any of his inappropriate behaviour.

😂 Could be... However, they must have a marketing team because their current job postings include 19 marketing roles.

This morning (while doing some food photography that will probably be stolen by AI soon), I listened to this podcast. Never really understood AI psychosis... but now I get it.

It's really about people believing AI is... well... intelligent. And they change their life based on what AI tells them.

I suspect these sorts of articles are actually all PR released from the AI tech giants... Every time I see a piece of news talking about how great AI is, I'm pretty sure that came from a marketing team at OpenAI.

I should tell you my ghost story at some point. 😉
