I also found a similar experience of this within the Scottish system too - huge amount of time and delays in trying to get the research approvals... Glad to see others publishing on this topic. Hopefully it will lead to improvement?

Great study on the huge amount of work & delays in getting governance approvals for low risk research. Completely resonate with this 😓. It’s not (cost-)effective and ultimately slows down improvements to patient care
