Last week we marked 5 years of Care Opinion in Northern Ireland.

Every Trust shared how they’re using stories to improve care. We celebrated what listening can make possible — and where it can take us next.

Here’s a reflection on the day from our CEO: www.careopinion.org.uk/blogposts/13...

After a serious fall, this patient shares how they felt supported every step of the way during their stay on Ward 230 at #RIE. They took time to thank everyone who played a part in their care. @nhslothian.bsky.social
Every word speaks volumes - here’s the full story: www.careopinion.org.uk/1377017
This image has some decorative elements, the Care Opinion logo and a direct quote from the author in their story, which reads the following: I felt included at every step of my ongoing care

Given the proposals on patient feedback in the NHS 10 year plan for England, it is worth saying that NHS Scotland has used @careopinion.org.uk for over 10 years now.

How's it going? Here's an independent report from the Specialist Cancer Charities Group:

#CDCLeven has been a lifeline for one family. Key workers shared “golden nuggets” of advice to support their child, helping them thrive despite barriers. Weekly sessions gave space to ask questions, share experiences & feel accepted on their journey. #NHSFife #FifeHSCP

This image has some decorative elements, the Care Opinion logo and a direct quote from the story, which reads the following: "We really did not want our time with the CDC (Children Development Centre) to end. The service has been amazing from start to finish. I cannot explain how much I have valued having access to the CDC, it has been a lifeline, a true support for the whole family. Thank you

We are supporting some #forensic services to collect feedback via @careopinion.org.uk, so people on their wards can share their experiences in a safe & transparent way. Read a story from a service user at Ashley Ward, @specialistservices.bsky.social:
This image includes some decorative elements. In the top right corner, there is a Care Opinion logo. In the middle, there is a quote from the author, taken directly from the story, which reads:
“I think that being here will help me. I have made friends with some of the other guys. I feel safe on the ward. I like accessing the garden; it is nice and open. The staff always make time for me; they are always on hand. The food is nice, and the ward is always very clean.”

At HMP Grendon, one person shared how support from #NHSInclusion Substance Misuse Service transformed their life. With a #DARTS mentor they learned emotional management through meditation, easing anxiety, reducing shame and building confidence and self-compassion.

Besides decorative elements, the Care Opinion logo is in the top right-hand corner, and in the middle there is a direct quote from the story’s author, which reads: Thank you to Dean, who has impacted my life in ways that he should certainly be proud of.

Every person in this story, from the midwife who acted in seconds to the domestic staff who brought a quiet cup of tea, made a difference at @nhshighland.scot.nhs.uk.

This is not a story that can be summed up in one quote. It’s one to be read in full and felt deeply. www.careopinion.org.uk/1369110
This image features a decorative element of an adult hand holding a baby’s hand, the Care Opinion logo, and a direct quote from the story, which reads as follows: “You gave our son the best start, and you gave us the strength and support to walk through it beside him. You were there at a time when we were at our most vulnerable, and you held us up. We will never, ever forget that.”
