indeed. here's an example of the most detailed ridership data they share (as a gesture of goodwill) if you send an foi request. it gives a very general idea, but it's kinda useless cuz you can't compare monthly averages over multiple months to anything else.

i haven’t heard one yet. i think they might be deployed only when there’s a city-wide or borough-wide snow removal operation.

@scarletcoral.ca, do you know in which cases the city or the boroughs use the sirens?

you can now see your yearly stats in @transit.app!

(cette fois-ci, mon commentaire ne devrait doxxer personne.)

c'est peut-être à cause de openstreetmap. je viens de trouver un chemin qui correspond à la description dont l'accès était mal indiqué. je viens de corriger ça.

bixi hasn’t published a lot of data but trailers are used for longer trips compared to the bikes

“BIXI has found that their trips averaged 10 km, compared to 2.9 km for regular and electric-assist bikes, and that 21% of uses were with a personal bike.”

c’est ironique considérant que c’est le même gouvernement qui a interdit les radars photo, malgré l’opposition de nombreux acteurs.

i really wonder why the team behind finch west decided to install tiny normal traffic lights instead of transit traffic lights with the white bars.

montreal has them, edmonton has them, kitchener-waterloo has them, so why not toronto?

do you know why there are slow zones?

the connection at brossard has likely been designed that way to reduce costs. if it had been one big building, complying with fire standards would've been more expensive.

grand-moulin → walk to the grand-moulin dam to see the trains crossing the river (one of the best picture spots, it’s a 10-min walk from the station)

édouard-montpetit → try the station’s high-speed elevators

pierrefonds-roxboro → eat at resto véganerie, a greek vegan fast food restaurant (it sounds weird, but it’s really good)

there isn’t much to see around the rem stations, but here are my recommendations.

du quartier - walk around the solar uniquartier (one of the first real tod in the greater montreal area), and shop or eat at t&t (an asian grocery store, it’s a 15-min walk from the station)
