The seed spitting is lowkey the craziest part of this entire movie.

“Men and women can’t be just friends” sorry why would I listen to a theory of the universe from a guy who doesn’t know how windows work
I wouldve been done with the seed spitting

I have my first final exam of law school on Monday my test-taking anxiety has been sky high lately! I’m stuck in a loop where I keep getting anxious that I’ll be anxious on test day.

Any advice would be appreciated! (Only if it can implemented in like a day tho)

This is why I think we need to do top 10 lists at completely random times. Recency bias means end-of-year lists are often skewed to the same months.

I posit that the best way to resolve this is to do the top 10 lists at a different date every year.
When I started my criticism career, I _loved_ making annual top ten lists. By the end, I realized the process was inherently flawed and biased toward whatever thing I liked that I had watched most recently, and I resented having to do it. I had a similar relationship to star ratings!

dril meme ‘someone who’s good at the economy help me’ but the budget is mostly devoted to buying 10 pairs of shoes/week
OK Wil’s point simplified. An e.g.

Back in the day a pair of shoes would cost a week’s wages. Let’s call it $1000

Today shoes are cheaper approx $100.

So today you could buy 10 pairs of shoes for a week’s wages.

Someone who can afford 10 pairs of shoes is richer than someone who can afford one.

“congress canceled forever” has been feeling more likely than I ever would have thought possible like 6 months ago. Would be an insane own goal for individual congressional Rs tho lol
at this point I don’t see them actually negotiating, so either we get a filibuster carveout for budget stuff (which is, functionally, the end of the filibuster - something Rs don’t want) or this just keeps going forever and congress has effectively disbanded itself

All of this is a hot mess but I want to highlight Third Way putting "incarcerated people" on a list of words Dems shouldn't use, like 🤨

I'm sorry, what should I call people who are incarcerated if not "incarcerated people"?? Do you want me to say convict? Felon? Thug? Or not talk about them at all?
Scoop: Third Way is circulating a memo, shared first with @playbookdc, featuring a new blacklist of words Dems shouldn’t use.

Ah yes, because nothing sounds more “normal” than someone who has a list of words they are nervously trying to avoid
Don't say "birthing person."
Don't say "incarcerated person."
Don't say "the unhoused."
Don't say "chest feeding."
Don't say "centering.
Don't say "Latinx."

When voters hear this, they think Democrats are out of touch crazy people. Just talk normal. Be normal.

Feeds back, seems we lost both Will and Ashley #bb27

It’s so funny to me how every Cuomo quote is more out of touch than the last. New Yorkers: a group of people who famously trust their landlords!

“you should have to give more financial info to your landlord” is the least attractive pitch I can imagine lmfao
Cuomo says Mamdani's claim that he didn't know his apartment was rent-stabilized when he moved in is "implausible to me."

saw an argument that gay marriage won’t be overturned cause anti-marriage equality folks don’t have the same pull that anti-abortion groups do….

what if I told u the anti-gay movement actually just needs a minimum of 5 very specific people…..
i’ve been persuaded that the kim davis is not the correct vehicle to overturn obergefell, but still have not seen a single argument that there is any meaningful constraint on the conservatives finding and using a better vehicle to do it anyway in the next few years.

feel like Draper doesn’t vote simply because he doesn’t want to risk getting caught for the whole identity theft thing
Don Draper said "I hate guns," opposed the Vietnam War, almost cried when JFK died, and gave a female secretary a copywriting job in the 1960s.

Neither he nor Homer Simpson would've voted for Trump. (Homer would've been talked into voting Dem by Lisa, then would've accidentally wrote in Joe Biden.)
Oct. 2024 poll: 66% of U.S. adult citizens who were familiar with Hank Hill thought if he were to vote in the 2024 presidential election, he would vote for Donald Trump
16% said he would vote for Kamala Harris

i was going to say “and why does this only happen to the Democrats” but then I remembered that one of today’s big stories is that MAGA isn’t mad about Epstein because Steve Bannon said so
one of my biggest online pet peeves are people treating random posters like they are representatives of entire political parties. the guy who was quote posted isn't a professional democrat or visibly associated with the democratic party! he's just a guy voicing his opinion!

Perhaps you should direct ur throne of cynicism towards the accuracy of the polling data lol
Right.
His fans are cheerfully celebrating the building of literal concentration camps.

And Cuomo still had LOTS of support from voters. The polls were neck and neck just a few days before voting.
