Black Trumpets (Craterellus cornucopioides), also called the Horn of Plenty or Trumpet of Death, can be difficult to spot!
A mycologist once told me that you need to "look for holes in the ground" to find them!
They're known to be delicious.

The Bleeding Tooth fungus (Hydnellum peckii) has both teeth on its underside and "blood" on its top!
The "blood" is extracellular fluid, which is squeezed out when the fungus absorbs water, increasing pressure until the red fluid is squeezed out!

I use photos as a reference, however my best efforts seem to be birds I know well and see day to day, as I can include character. Maybe that’s why I find Owls tricky. I’ve had a few attempts at them - here are some that are ok. 🪶
