Trella's introduction, all the references to Teresa of Ávila, and the few mentions of Pope Gregory XIII and the Spanish inquisition (tho I fudged somethings for the sake of plot re: the latter)

Of course it was Teresa's ecstatic visions that inspired the romance, so she informed the setting.
