Even as she faced a long illness, EMT Suprin continued to serve with extraordinary courage, inspiring everyone who knew her. She is already deeply missed by her Boston EMS family. Our hearts are with all who loved Regina.

Rest in peace, EMT Suprin. We’ve got it from here.

Regina will also be remembered for her wicked sense of humor, her kindness, and her exceptional strength — a true warrior spirit. She was a supportive colleague both on and off duty, often cheering on our EMS hockey team and lifting up those around her.

A gifted mentor, she helped shape a generation of EMTs and left an impact that will carry forward for years to come. Her contributions were recognized with numerous commendations, including the 2024 Chief of Department Award for her professionalism and outstanding service.

She served in multiple roles — in Field Ops, in Dispatch Ops, as a lead Field Training Officer in the Academy, and most recently in the ePCR Office at Headquarters. In every assignment, Regina brought unmatched dedication, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellence that strengthened our department.

Boston EMS is deeply saddened to announce the passing of active-duty EMT Regina Suprin, Badge 1066. A lifelong Boston resident, Regina proudly served her city for more than 13 years.
Throughout her career, EMT Suprin built a reputation as a consummate professional and a steadfast colleague.

In the coming weeks, they’ll complete additional training as they transition into their new roles. We wish them continued success and thank them for their dedication to our department and the City of Boston.

While our crews continue to respond to nearly 400 calls a day, our Materials Management and Special Operations teams are hard at work inspecting every ambulance and its equipment this week.

The group then visited our Special Operations Division for an up-close look at the equipment and resources we use to support medical coverage, logistics, and coordination during special events and mass casualty incidents.

Today we hosted a group of Norwich University students. Their visit began at Headquarters, where they learned about our department and our role in emergency planning and preparedness. This included a presentation by Superintendent Lessard on the Boston EMS response to the 2013 Boston Bombings.

Today, we proudly gathered at Faneuil Hall to celebrate the graduation of 32 EMT recruits and 7 recent promotions. After six months of intensive academy training—and more than 4,700 9-1-1 calls answered in training units—these Recruits now begin their official assignments as Boston EMS EMTs.
