I'd amend that to add "at different times". As a fresh college grad, I loved living walking distance from downtown. When I had kids, I was happy to live in the suburbs.

I have empty-nester friends who moved back to the city when their kids moved out and loved both places.

The governor here in Colorado replaced Columbus Day with Cabrini Day, which I think is awesome in all kindsa ways.
