Vietnam veteran, Army. Bruin for Life.
Democracy is an essential part of America.
I oppose tyranny in all its forms and I use profanity at times.
Sorry, but I'm not interested in receiving messages.
The morons who voted for him probably think it's a good deal.

I don't think it would be a gift. They pushed the issue for a few weeks and knew it was doing well with ordinary folks.

They won the shutdown with that issue (and with Trump trying to starve poor hungry kids) and they will make ads for the midterms as soon as the ACA subsidies are defeated.
November 11, 2025 at 4:24 AM
The regime already knew that. They supported Israel.
November 11, 2025 at 4:21 AM
Trump is living is his very own idiocracy.
November 11, 2025 at 12:20 AM
I don't know that there would have been any reopening without one side or the other caving.
Dragging out the shutdown just means the whole government stays shutdown and the pain falls wherever it falls.
November 10, 2025 at 11:25 PM
He's a fucking moron, but the One Big Ugly Bill was passed exclusivity by Republicans who refused to speak to Democrats.

Everyone knows who 'the enemy' really is.
November 10, 2025 at 9:04 PM
So, you would just shut down the whole government forever?
November 10, 2025 at 8:05 PM
There is NO ONE who actually thinks that, but, hey, thanks.
November 10, 2025 at 7:03 PM
They didn't have any leverage.
So, why not keep the government out of business forever and just let the dictator run wild?
The problem is that people elected Republican majorities.
November 10, 2025 at 4:15 PM
Home Depot was totally in line with Trump even before Trump.
November 10, 2025 at 4:06 PM
There are a lot to follow on an ongoing basis, but you do a great job with the newsletter. The multiple issues last week followed by a survey this morning was impressive. Thanks.
November 10, 2025 at 3:29 PM
I already said SNAP is funded through the rest of the fiscal year as part of the deal.
November 10, 2025 at 6:20 AM
Republicans would be stupid not to pay federal workers for the time of the shutdown.
I don't expect anything from them except more lies.
November 10, 2025 at 6:17 AM
You seem to think Trump and the Republicans are all powerful.
They are not.
I'm not appeasing anyone, not the fascists and not you.
I expect the midterms will be a disaster for Republicans if we can avoid the vote suppression, law changing and other tricks that they pull every time.
November 10, 2025 at 6:09 AM
The federal employees who weren't being paid would differ with you on that one.
Also, the ones who were RIF'd and are now being reinstated are realizing a double benefit.
I don't see the claim of weakness.
There's no reason not to support Dems in every single election that comes up in 2026.
November 10, 2025 at 6:03 AM
Actually the Agriculture bill, along with SNAP benefits, were approved for funding through the entire fiscal year, so September 30, 2026 is already in the mix for them.
We should not let people forget that Republicans are overtly cruel people who love to inflict pain on the poor and helpless.
November 10, 2025 at 5:57 AM
So, replace Schumer if you think that's necessary (which it is), but there never, as in never, was going to be huge tax subsidies reducing ACA premiums.
Republicans have been trying to kill the ACA for over a decade. It was only Biden post-pandemic that created the subsidies that have now expired.
November 10, 2025 at 5:45 AM
Not relevant to tonight, but thanks for playing.
November 10, 2025 at 5:40 AM
I wasn't accusing you or anyone in particular of voting for Republicans. I was saying you ended up where you started because a whole lot of people voted for Republicans. They have majorities in both houses of Congress, as well as in the White House.
There never was anything Senate Dems could do.
November 10, 2025 at 5:38 AM
You ended up where we started because of who controls Congress.
People should be very pissed at Republicans, but tonight a lot of folks seem to think Democrats caused whatever isn't going right in their lives and that's just not what happened.
November 10, 2025 at 5:30 AM
The folks that gave them majorities in the House and in the Senate and in the White House.
Minorities in Congress are easy to ignore, as the Republicans have made very clear this year.
