Democracy is an essential part of America.
I oppose tyranny in all its forms and I use profanity at times.
Sorry, but I'm not interested in receiving messages.
Diana gets it. Bluesky is full of folks badmouthing every Democrat because of what 8 senators did.

Trump laid off thousands, refused to release SNAP funds, sent the House home, indicted enemies, pardoned friends, paid troops to terrorize cities, and even blew up boats.

Yet folks are blaming Dems.
Once again they're going to go after Democrats, instead of Republicans? There are 8 senators who voted 'yes' today. Fine, go after their seats when they come up. But it doesn't seem occur to anyone that social media bot farms and trolls, will do anything to sink the Democratic Party, and the

So, you would shut down the whole government forever?
Don't ever agree to do anything with anyone again?

"the people were on our side" = BFD

You could have won - WHAT? You had no leverage of any kind and no one was interested in talking to you.

Stop your whining.
In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

I am really fucking tired of the complaining that goes on here.

If you assholes would stop electing Republicans, you wouldn't have to complain so much.

Back to work, even for those of us who didn't get any time off.
It's Monday morning.

I think they knew that going in, but they wanted to stop the pain the shutdown was causing to real people.
Notice the 8 aren't running for office in 2026. The other 39, most of whom will be running, would have kept the shutdown going for much longer.
The Repubs won't ever vote for an ACA subsidy.
The 8 Dem-caucusing Senators who voted to separate the ACA into its own negotiation a month from now should be ashamed. Voting on a GOP "promise" is the height of idiocy when you HAD all the leverage. There's no incentive for the GOP to pass it then. None. The ACA is a non-starter for 100% of them.

Donald Trump was urging people to attack the U.S. Capitol.
That's a fact for which he would have been convicted if the Supreme Court had not prevented the case from going to trial.
He even lied by saying he would "be there with you."
"....suggesting Panorama edited two parts of Trump's speech together so he appeared to explicitly encourage the Capitol Hill riots of January 2021."

Editing or not, we all know he did! We predicted it and watched it on live TV!

Reductions in Force not required by shutdowns, have never happened in any previous shutdown, and a judge has ruled they are illegal.
The shutdown is an excuse, not a reason, for them to do what they wanted to do: destroy government.

Stopping SNAP benefits has nothing to do with the 'shutdown.'
SNAP has existed for 60 years. Benefits have gone out every single month over those six decades, including during government shutdowns. Until now.

Make no mistake: The money is available to fund SNAP during this shutdown. Trump is making a choice to withhold it.

Don’t forget this.

Mike Johnson makes sure the shutdown can't end.

If the House is not in session, it can't pass the solution.

SNAP recipients are NOT impacted by government shutdown.

They are impacted by Donald Trump's refusal to release the funds allocated for SNAP recipients.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has kept the House on its own vacation for the past eight weeks.
Why is he talking to the press while he refuses to call the House into session?
What is so important about not allowing the House to vote on releasing the Epstein files?
we're on day 2 of Mike Johnson urging everyone to ignore the drubbing his party took on Tuesday
November 6, 2025 at 7:44 PM
Mike Johnson is on a singular mission to protect all the Epstein related pedophiles from being held accountable. He will never reconvene the House as long as Trump is in control.

He just swipes at Democrats every day with his lies and disinformation because he doesn't have a soul.
It's been 42 days since Adelita Grijalva was elected by the people of Arizona's seventh congressional district to represent them in Congress.

Mike Johnson still refuses to swear her in.

Why is the government shut down?

Congress failed to pass a budget for the fiscal year that began on October 1, 2025. There are no appropriations for anything.

Republicans control both houses of Congress. It's their job to pass a budget.

They think we're stupid enough to blame Democrats.

CBS reported SNAP benefits were cut by the shutdown.
CBS is now full blooded right wing extremist news.
SNAP benefits were cut by Republicans a few months ago.

November 3, 2025 at 4:57 PM
Only Republicans voted for their tax cut to billionaires, partially offset by taking $187 from SNAP, cutting ACA subsidies for everyone, imposing harsh requirements on Medicaid, taking $500B from Medicare, and adding a trillion to debt.

Every Dem politician voted against it.

Those are the facts.

Trump regime: Tell the truth and you will get fired.
That is the whole fucking point of this regime.
Kash fired the guy he thinks outed him for taking another private jet flight to see his girlfriend sing.

The Republican politicians know there are millions of dark skinned babies and toddlers who are now dead or dying. Ask them about exactly what is in their One Big Ugly Bill.

Republican politicians want poor dark-skinned Americans to die young, and the younger the better.

That's who wants you vote.

There is no doubt that we produce plenty of food for everyone in the country plus what we can export.
It's just that some big bosses require the 21st century version of slave labor.
Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.
October 27, 2025 at 2:22 AM
The Democratic Party needs a daily show of some sort that's available to a wide range of media . . .
and they need to promote it themselves . . .
and not count on independent media to pick it up.
