I think your intention is good (and I'm sure the writer of this editorial also has good intentions), but there is a lot of baggage around this particular newspaper with regards to transgender rights.

Like others have said, the NYT is cited in a TON of the anti-trans legislation being pushed. One small editorial is nothing compared to the multiple anti-trans news articles and editorial pieces published within just the past 24 hours alone...

Tellingly, none of these things have anything to do with genitals or the simplistic "biology" argument normally thrown - these are specifically societal expectations thrown onto "woman". I'm a married trans man with a kid; my cis husband is the "mom" in our family who does these (except budget).

If it were a Michael Ende novel, I could tell you immediately - the answer is always "Mensch ärgere Dich nicht" (similar to Sorry! or Parcheesi). But alas! My knowledge of ancient games (outside of The Royal Game of Ur) is lacking.
