Lower energy bills. Energy efficient homes. Cleaner energy.
No one should be forced to choose between heating and eating, or live in a home that can make them unwell. And no household should be left behind while energy firms make billions.

It’s time to end fuel poverty for good, and uphold the basic rights every person deserves.

If we really want to fix Britain’s broken energy system, we need grid reform, fair pricing, proper investment in energy efficiency, and a social tariff so the transition works for people, not just big investors.

Households can’t be left picking up the bill through higher standing charges/poor-value infrastructure spending

Grid reform must be fair. Community energy projects delivering cheaper power & real local accountability can't be pushed to the back of the queue while wealthy lobbyists jump ahead

But faster grid access can’t mean a free pass for network firms and energy generators. These companies have made billions during the energy crisis, with profits flowing to offshore investors and so-called “vampire funds.”

➡️Offshore wind can be a key driver of cheaper, fairer energy. The next phase isn’t just about building more turbines, it’s about making sure cleaner power genuinely brings down costs for every household.

But as we mark this milestone, millions of households are still struggling with high energy bills. The growth of renewables must be matched by action that ensures people feel the benefit, from reforming our broken pricing system to investing in warm, energy-efficient homes.

⚠️As North Sea gas supplies rapidly run out, expanding home-grown clean power is essential for cutting bills and strengthening our energy security.

If the public are expected to pay, then every penny must deliver real value for money, lower energy costs in the long term, and strengthen Britain’s energy security as more renewables come online.

Investment is essential. Unfair profits are not.

Since 2020, network and transmission companies have made over £50bn in profit during the energy crisis. Much of this has gone to offshore investors and private equity funds, while consumers have been left with record bills.

@ofgem.gov.uk estimates an average £3 a month increase in bills by 2031, though costs could be higher in the short term, and families already face soaring energy prices.

These upgrades are essential, especially with the North Sea running out of gas and ageing grids struggling to cope, but households cannot be handed a blank cheque.

If we want people to support the shift to clean, secure, home-grown energy, the transition must be fair, affordable, and designed around consumers, not corporate profits.

A warm home is the starting point for public consent.
A fair pricing system is how we earn it.

3️⃣Excess profits across energy generation, networks and supply, even as millions struggle to heat their homes.
4️⃣A pricing system still locked to costly gas, even as the UK moves toward importing almost all its supply.

1️⃣Discriminatory tariffs that punish low-income and low-usage households.
2️⃣Unfairly distributed costs that place more burden on those who can least afford it.

That's why a fair energy system can’t rely on temporary tweaks. We need long-term action: a social tariff, fully funded energy efficiency programmes, and energy market reform so bills come down, and stay down.

What does the Autumn Budget mean for your energy bills?
Billpayers to benefit from an average of £150 off the costs of energy bills.

Any reduction is welcome, but some think tanks fear many savings could easily be wiped out by costs rising elsewhere in the energy system. Meanwhile other campaigners worry that some of those most in need of support with their energy costs could benefit the least.
