As in a Discord server?

Correct. Z-Depth fighting happens in literally all rendering engines where surfaces overlap pixel perfect. The renderer can't decide which to render in front of the other hence the flicker. Using it as a cheap ultra-low res reflection was brilliant, even if accidentally.

Using z-fighting to mimic a cheap reflection is brilliant. Cool idea!

Of course not! Create away.

That's my umbrella!

Thanks! Make Room has been awesome and I'm already loving what creators are making.

Is the texture painting done in Blender itself?

You can DM me if you'd like. :)

That was FAST!

A second idea, all of the textures in an atlas and possibly as a premade godot and/or blender material for those of us who have a single-material prototyping workflow (there are dozens of us!).

Perhaps some samples with high contrast gridlines? In prototyping I often have to turn the albedo to color extremes to get the lines to show up at even a small distance.

More tips please! Make this a series.

Nothing wrong with this at all. Easy enough to use an AI generator to get ideas for theming, style, posing, and reference. You can compose ideas and test art direction in substantially less time.

Here's a screenshot of the setup in blender:

I guess Animated GIFs don't work here. I'll come up with a video solution soon. 😑

The Common Desktop Environment (a.k.a CDE) was a UNIX standard for some time. You can still install and run it on Arch Linux which has a package for it in the AUR if you want that retro feel on a modern system.
