Same around SCR in #Limerick. People who use the area as a rat run must be listened to intently. Me and my daughter trying to cycle to school safely are just 'being difficult'
Oh and 'kids these days spend too much time on their phones/in their rooms' - I wonder why?

The way it works is that people who hate bike lanes and live anywhere are real new Yorkers but people who love bike lanes who live in the neighborhood don't count because reasons.

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

Is that blue handbag made of radioactive viagra or is there another explanation for the month-long horn the Irish Times have had for her?

Worth tracking down Alexander MacKendricks 'On Film-Making' which goes into a lot of detail on it.

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

This is fantastic. And I think the first new album I've bought on cassette since Neil Youngs 'Sleeps With Angels' a thousand centuries ago.

I have huge respect for what Jim Gavin, Brian Cody & John Kiely have achieved with their counties. If any were running for Council in my area I'd think 'there's a good person to have in there' - but not enough for TD and especially not President.

The #GlobalSumudFlotilla on its way to Gaza is an incredible sight. Hopeful, inspiring and terrifying for what might come in equal measure. Israel has killed people on similar flotilla in international waters before. The Spectre is @sarahmaintains.bsky.social and Chris Andrews' boat. Amazing people.

Tentacles instead of arms all day.
I'd allow the option of 5 smaller tentacles at the end as well so that existing gloves / keyboards / knuckle dusters etc don't go to waste.

“It shouldn’t have to cost €100,000,” said the Taoiseach during yesterday's Leaders' Questions, in reference to a tender for a bike shed at the National Maternity Hospital.

With that, we’re asking you: How much is okay for the State to spend on a bike shed?

How much is okay for the State to spend on a bike shed?
The cost of bike sheds came up again in the Dáil yesterday – this time over a €100,000 tender for one at the National Maternity Hospital.

Is it ok for the State to spend €103,598 to rent 28 car parking spaces for a year? Is that good value?
Did i miss the hoo-hah about that? No, but giving out people on bikes is more popular isn't it?

One or two people are complaining about the budget for providing safe parking to hospital staff who cycle to work.

In other news:

"€248,500 was spent on accommodation that was never used, the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) has said."

How about €1.2M a year just to rent some car park spaces?
Just over €100k of that for 28 spaces for the Oireachtas. Another €100k for 30 spaces for the Revenue. But yeah, hospital staff on bikes are the problem.
