I’d have written more but I’m working on a doctor’s report, which requires a fair degree of research to be plausible. To make matters worse, it probably won’t appear in the final manuscript, but I need to complete it for reference at least.

Another 3,100 words. I’ve broken 30k. I usually start thinking of something I’m writing as a “real” novel once I pass that point.

What book inspired your current WIP?
Mine is a trad vampire tale and I was inspired in part by “They Thirst” by Robert R. McCammon and to a lesser extent by “Salem’s Lot.”
Another 2000 words. One third of the way through November and I’m at 27k words!

Are any of the characters in your WIP based on real people?
Mine are loosely based on the people I knew growing up on the 1960s
2500 words yesterday.

What’s the tentative title for your WIP? I’m using “Harvest Hills” for mine, at the moment.
I’ve gotten past the 20,000 word barrier. I hope all of you are making good progress too.

What keeps you going, when you’re writing? As a pantser, i’m always curious to see what the characters will get up to.
Made up for yesterday’s slowdown. 19k words in total today

Only 1,000 words today. I wrote more but deleted it; it wasn’t right.
I’ve given very “ordinary” names to my protagonist characters for my WIP: Joe, Pat, Billy, Pam. One goes by a nickname, but I wanted it to have that mid-60s vibe.

Is anyone else on a roll? I’m always suspicious when it happens. I’m happy, but worried it will end.
Anyone like old-fashioned vampire stories? No glittery ones or romantic, angsty vamps in this story!

How many words did you get written today? I’ve added another 2250 words to “Harvest Hills.” My total is now 10,631 since November 1st.
I’ve introduced a young couple who will meet an unfortunate end, and the Big Bad’s henchman who will keep things interesting

Up early this morning and added about 2000 words more to “Harvest Hills.” I wrote another 1900 words yesterday afternoon bringing the grand total to 6300 words, which is pretty good progress.
I’m currently writing a dual timeline: 1960s and 1980s.
My short story “Home for Christmas” will appear in the anthology White Witches Hat, from Bibdweed Magazine, which will be available as a Kindle e-book sometime in November
