We’ve lost Europe as friends but hey, we’ve got El Salvador- a place that builds concentration camps and has a GDP of $34B.

El Salvador's president says he won't return mistakenly deported man to U.S.
The Trump administration now claims Kilmar Abrego Garcia wasn’t deported by mistake, as the Justice Department said, but was “the right person sent to the right place.”

The Tax Foundation has estimated the announced tariffs will impose an average tax hike of over $1,900 per household for 2025. By comparison, John Thune said a four-person household with $80,000 in earnings would avoid an additional $1,700 to the government next year thanks to the tax package.

Retail is buying the dip while the Pros are selling. I'm betting on the Pros

The retail crowd has been aggressively buying in recent days. But at the same time, institutional funds have continued to bail out of stocks, Hackett noted.

Yep - from WaPo: Trump personally selected a formula that was based on two simple variables — the trade deficit with each country and the total value of its U.S. exports.. it bears some striking similarities to a methodology published during Trump’s first administration by Peter Navarro.
CNBC's Steve Liesman doesn't mince words about the way the White House calculated its tariff rates:

"Nobody ever heard of this formula. Nobody has ever used this formula. So I’m sorry, but the conclusion seems to be the president kind of made this up as he went along... these are off the charts."

Grimly fascinating. If anyone thinks this is a short term negoiating position they are wrong:

"Inside and outside the White House, advisers say Trump is unbowed even as the world reels from the biggest increase in trade hostilities in a century. They say Trump is unperturbed by negative headlines"

The always readable Paul Krugman on this shit show. You thought Brexit was the worst self inflicted economic wound in modern history? Trump has made that look like small beer:

An excellent analysis of what these tariffs mean - and what is to come. And it's not good.

Bravo - Americans need to wake up that an oligarchy is now in place that will immiserate them if they are not taxed at higher rates.

In place of Republican town halls, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) are on a “Fighting Oligarchy” tour

Anyone here following or investing in PureCycle $PCT?

Seems like a natural for this community. Only company on the verge of commercializing a tech that can truly recycle polypropylene for the first time. See their thread on Blue Sky.

$PCT Anyone here following or investing in PureCycle? Seems like a natural for many on this service. Allows polypropylene plastic to be fully recycled for the first time. They are looking to commercialize this next year after years spent building their first plant.

#EOSE The long awaited DOE news finally hit - and stock went nowhere after an initial pop because it could take well over a year for them to see any actual funds. Still, a step in the right direction
