We expect the EU-Mercosur Agreement to be ready to be signed next week, and I believe that the signature should be a reason for satisfaction. This is a strategic agreement for Europe, which allows us to diversify our trade relations and strengthen our autonomy. It is a unique economic opportunity.

We call on EU countries to adopt today the EU-Mercosur agreement - a milestone deal which strengthens Europe’s competitiveness, strategic autonomy, and confirms Europe’s attachment to an open and free trade. The Group will vote in favour when the European Parliament is asked.
