I think it’s understated that there are entire online communities dedicated to filming yourself running from the police (many in nyc) and breaking every traffic law in existence.

Even Vance’s spokesperson came out and validated the messages. They cant come out and say its fake because they have already confirmed it 😭

NO. The journalist confirmed with Brian Hughes, the spokesman for the National Security Council, responded two hours later, confirming the veracity of the Signal group. “This appears to be an authentic message chain, and we are reviewing how an inadvertent number was added to the chain,”

It would be ridiculous to think ALL Cubans are the same. Not all Cubans like cafecito but i’d be comfortable saying Cubans like their cafecito. Or, saying older white men in West Virginia vote republican. I am not saying a group is wholly good or bad, sorry if you feel targeted as an exception.

Despite miami having the largest share of immigrants.

I think historically its fair to put Cubans (and the other latin miami population) on a monolith about being apathetic to american politics in general, including immigration policy. In 2006 new immigration policy brought out half a million to protest in dallas and LA but only four thousand in Miami.

This messaging isn’t even addressed towards new yorkers its a virtue signal to the rest of the fox viewers that democrats waste money, harbor criminals, and want to take away everyones freedom of isolation. it does not exist within the bounds of cost benefit or facts, we run off vibes in this place

He represents the views of his vocal constituents. Wealthy, orthodox, isolated, older, jewish folk. It’s not that complicated. Not everything is national politics.

the lack of policy mentioned and the amount of people in replies quick to say this is republican or facist is concerning

Fails to mention Euclid v Ambler, automobile driven suburbanization, rise in 30 year mortgage, and home ownership. to make it seem like nimbyism is an active progressive movement is a joke. Maybe thats what it will takes for people to give a shit about housing. a villain taking away freedom.

In 2003 Anti war protests for the Iraq invasion gathered hundreds of thousands in many big cities across the US. Miami had 700. NYC had 375,000. Miami is much different and more politically apathetic (towards most US politics) than most people think.

“The emigrants were accused (by the Castro Government) to be loafers, criminals, and drug addicts, and their expulsion (to Miami) was allegedly a kind of social cleansing.”

Where I’m at, state dot procedure seems so much more streamlined compared to county. Maybe because none of those people are elected.

Lots of development is happening in certain urban areas but I feel like people see it just as catering to the ultra wealthy/people from out of state. Others just see it as more cars on the road in front of them in traffic.

Been wondering the same thing myself 😅. Miami is a different country, disconnected from lots of things. Lots of people here talk about high cost of living but most of them blame “developer greed” or rich people moving from other states. Acting to increase supply just isn’t in the discussion as much.
