Happy Sunday, friends! Here's me staring out at the rainy day that I ended up spending hours driving around in rather than do anything productive today.

Happy Sunday, friends. Just wandering around town after morning and afternoon responsibilities. Trying to relax before the week's insanities.

He describes all the things his people do… and then say literally that this doesn't apply to him or those under his direction.

Is it my imagination… or are the flowers on the door giving me the side eye?

Happy Sunday! Spent all afternoon hanging out with friends.

It's hot and the bright sun must be kept off of the bare head. Happy Sunday, friends.

On our last night… we had to drive back to Anchorage to spend the night since our plane took off at 6:00 AM the next morning. But we stopped a few times along the Turnagin Arm to enjoy the view along there. This picture was the last glimpse of ocean water that I got on the trip.

The hardest hike we did wasn't too bad at 4.5 miles round trip. I got to see just how different AK forests are from home (denser greenery). We went up and over a portion of a mountain till we came down to this bridge crossing Tonsina Creek to the black sand (and gravel) beach of Tonsina Point.

Besides the many seals and otters and sea lions and seagulls and eagles and humpbacks and orcas we saw from our accommodations for the week… we visited the Alaska Sealife Center where this cute little guy wanted to get up close and say "hi" to me.

One day we drove around to the other side of Resurrection Bay to take a look at things from a little different perspective. I loved the little stream feeding down from the mountains into the Bay.

We went on the short, easy hike out to Exit Glacier, which was just outside Seward (where we were staying). It was almost a 1-mile hike in… but we still couldn't get super close with the current danger of the ice giving way to a wall of water. Nonetheless… we could see the glacier with our own eyes.

We walked all around town in Whittier and then enjoyed lunch at a little seafood restaurant on the dock. Despite the insane number of boats… the view from our lunch perch was great.

We got to drive over to Whittier, Alaska on one day… which entailed a 2.5-mile drive through a 1-lane tunnel. The tunnel is only open once an hour in each direction – one direction on the hour and the other on the half hour.

The first night we couldn't fall asleep till around 2:00 AM. The sun didn't go down till 10:30 PM… and it didn't get dark until after midnight. This picture (from the window where we were staying) was the moon that first night at about a quarter till midnight.

A quick double shot of espresso in my one memento of a beautiful vacation over the past week. Back home again now… but won't forget that trip soon.

33 Days to get here from Level 49. That was some hardcore grinding! Time to slow down (a little anyway).
