I notice them when i visit my daughter down in the Cotswolds. Frankly, in her village the immigrant "threat" is non existant.

I wouldn't even hazard guess about the size of any independence faction in England. Either non existant to all intents and purposes or very poorly organised.

I'd say that it's very unlikely that Farage would promote the idea or countenance any members of his party to do so. Without an English party actively pushing for independence and without media access the notion that a Scottish, Welsh or Irish party could do so effectively is pie in the sky.

Would you expand on your ideas for this "quickest and easiest" way, please, Andrew. Given the lack of push on the matter by those in England who believe in the idea, maybe you can give them food for thought.

Much as i dislike the endless negativity from the media regarding CalMac, I'm not sure that the tone of this article does much good for either CalMac or Northlink.
With friends on Orkney and having been on the Hamnavoe i will say that the Pentland Firth is way more "interesting" in windy conditions.

I read elsewhere today that there had also been some concerns about interference in Scottish issues by some Greens from outside of Scotland.

The thing is that neither universal human rights nor any other cause which is dear to people is a minor detail. However putting any such cause in front of independence merely delays the day when they can be properly addressed, legally and constitutionally, by the Scottish people themselves.

Scottish independence won't be the answer to each and every problem. Despite what you say, no one is actually suggesting that to be the case.
However, with independence, we will have the opportunity to come up with our own proposals for each problem. Some will work, some won't.

Unfortunately at national level it's difficult to think of any voting system which would give equal weighting to the views of all 4 parts of the UK.
For my part, I'd look for federal England and independent Scotland with sensible amicable pacts on issues where cooperation offers the best options.

Hate and despise who? I don't. I certainly despise the type of political operatives that are so prevalent in Westminster. But I don't hate or have any reason to hate the average punter. I want independence for Scotland and that won't make me a stranger to the family that I have south of the border.

How and when will the Scottish membership decide? Will the undoubtedly larger English membership accept and move forward with that decision whatever it is?

I regularly get asked to contribute financially to help the Guardian but any request for them to improve on their Scottish coverage gets ignored. Reporting anything Scottish related in any detail seems to be too much to ask.

Not necessarily rupturing those bonds, at least in the longer term, but most certainly re-aligning them to give Scots more say and more focus on what works for Scotland.

It will be a matter to be negotiated and resolved between the two governments. However it won't be an overnight "issue" and it will be as much in England's interest to sort out a viable solution as it is in Scotland's interest.

Far from it. The SNP laid out in detail what their approach would be on various issues. They may have got some things wrong and there were issues which were less than fully addressed but they did not point blank lie as did Better Together and Leave for the EU ref.
