Can a real medical doctor explain to this person what happened to people who caught infectious diseases before vaccines. I mean, it's pretty much impossible to know otherwise.

The "Fairy Tale Scholar" is a visiting professor with a PHD in English. This was an elective class and I guarantee you the only thing she knows about it is that it has the word "queer" in the title and some rightwing bloggers found the course description and decided to put the school on blast.

The insane thing is anyone believing that GOP voters correctly placing the blame for this on the GOP is a good risk to take when you're talking about millions of your own voters having to drop their health insurance because they can't afford it.

This is a feature, not a bug. The only use Republicans have for small businesses is justifying keeping the minimum wage low or not requiring benefits for workers. They're perfectly happy for every single one of them to go out of business so your only option is Walmart, Dollar General, Amazon etc
