Insomnia persists. Possibly a little unhinged and/or incoherent (though my filter isn’t great when I’m fully rested, either #neurospicy).
I don’t usually watch tennis. This #Wimbledon championship has me positively riveted. Like this is is DRAMATIC. I don’t care who wins, I’m just here for the story.

What started as insomnia quickly revealed itself as the next battle of a long war called Protracted Withdrawal From SSRIs Sucks Rotten Eggs. But hey, I’m functional again, so that’s good.

Oh my god I’ve been confusing Mansfield Park with Middlemarch 🤦🏼 So, I read a lot because I’m prone to insomnia, which makes my brain prone to scrambling. And today is one of those weeks.

Ok, I guess my algorithm is working.
“I found myself … addressing hundreds of people in a marquee, gesticulating at a flipchart and yelling at them to read Moby-Dick and Middlemarch.”

Following my whole Jane Austen FOMO thing, I am delighted to read that @iammilliam.bsky.social (Who seems to have disappeared. Andy, are you ok? Are you ok, Andy?) did not >love< Jane Austen. Sure, I’m caught up in the celebration, but the fear still exists: WHAT IF I HATE IT.
June 16, 2025 at 5:52 PM
Ok. I’ve read at least one book by #JaneAusten for a university course. I don’t remember loving it or her. Just watched “Jane Austen: Rise of a Genius” on BBC. Um, she was a BADASS?! And I think I need to give her a second chance.

Ok, my #TBR list has officially topped 1,200 physical books. One big shelf. Nearly full to bursting. I NEED A STRATEGY PLEASE HELP

Well, I needed to read this today. Maybe you do too.

There will never be a good time to write. Life won't stop until you're dead and then you really can't write. Do it now.

This is a fantastic lesson on how to scream on the page without resorting to screaming.

1 read, 2 in my library, 4 for the BATTL list (Books Added To The Library). This is the only version of meta that I want in my life. 💙📚

There are many takes on the William Carlos Williams original of this poem but this one sounds most like it is being spoken by someone from Leeds.

“He saw the beauty and the hope of a revolution to come.”

There’s a nice dose of hope in this article. History has repeated itself so often we can now take lessons from those who have lived through similar dark turns.

Hope is a small rebellion. Lead the way, Mr. Orwell. I’ll follow.

I have graduated from purchasing the same book twice, to borrowing a book I already own from the library.

I haven’t quite made it to reading the book. Yet. But I saved money, so it’s a win.

Found this in the donation bin at the local Co-op. Best donation I have ever made. Let the tour begin! I think @tripfiction.bsky.social would approve. #literarytourism
