Are we entering the authoritarian overreach stage—in which a leader, high on his own supply, can’t see his own precarity? If opinion keeps moving in this direction, MAGA will be voted out. But when defeat becomes imminent, fascism turns to force to cling to power. No matter what, it'll be ugly.

What Trump has wrought: a reversal of attitudes on immigration. Now we're an immigrant nation again, we need more immigrants to maintain our economy, and Trump's persecution of immigrants is just wrong.

Across 13 countries, they find that neoliberal policies (labor deregulation and reduced gov spending) predict stronger individualist attributions for poverty (e.g., poor people are lazy).

Has anybody else read Tony Tulathimutte's _Rejection_? I found it to be hilarious, poignant, beautifully written — and (obviously) extraordinarily lurid. It made me want to log off permanently, which makes it a self-help book.
