American Kinship 101
I came across a meme the other day where a right-wing troll asked why left-wing people accept various anti-natalist, anti-nationalist (and presumably anti-white) tenets. In the average person, issu…

Einstein showed that mass and energy have an exchange nature with one another. I think the same is true of violence and language.
Albert Einstein died on this day, April 18, 1955.

It is incredible to hear Albert Einstein explain his famous formula, E=mc².

American politics is not about philosophy or values. It's all about kinship, and increasingly so today. Let me explain.

In America, the two sides are trending toward what Levi-Strauss would have called a "restricted exchange" system. Here's what's happening, as I understand it...

Planet of the Apes predicts a day when one chimpanzee ("Caesar") finally evolves to have human-like intelligence.

Most call this science.

More accurately, this is a messianic fulfillment of Modern Synthesis & Darwinism.

Were the first Chinese fortified cities built on the graves of notables? I compare this trend with the Roman and Greek city. #anthropology #kinship ericjacobus.com/2025/03/27/g...
Grave Sites as the First Chinese Cities
Fortified cities, and the entire social structure, in China might have begun with burial mounds. Whereas there are many mentions in the Li Ji and other documents that concubines, wives, and slaves …

In ancient society we slept when it got dark. In technological society we sleep when we get tired of watching screens = general exhaustion. Seems sleeping while it's dark pays dividends. I would also like to see studies about comparative rates of seasonal depression and nightmares.

In Napier's "Roots of Mankind" the author claims that "In the progress towards the social evolution of education, student revolts are a grave hindrance;... young males... act as adult males do in all primate societies when they are so challenged - aggressively." Here again myth rears its ugly head.

Seeking some #primatology or #zoology pros to help me understand this. Humans have a low intermembral index (long legs), even lower than New and Old World monkeys. Primates, by contrast, have a much higher index. Can anyone explain this disparity? (cit: Napier, Roots of Mankind, 1970)

The giant oarfish can grow up to 23 feet long. 19th century authors witnessed these creatures and called them sea serpents. No doubt these lent to myths of dragons, Loch Ness monster, etc. From the Wiki. #myth

I have a different take: Lily Phillips' 100-man marathon isn't about bodily autonomy, but a kinship reduction technique that's been used since the dawn of humankind. She's not a sign of the downfall of civilization, simply a story of how humans never change. ericjacobus.com/2025/02/19/t...

1) This is the biggest issue the Navajo are contending with esp. transporting uranium through the Navajo Nation, 2) in 10,000 years, archaeologists might look at these spikes and think they were tools of weapons. We should likewise rethink how we look at Oldowan and Acheulean handaxes. #archaeology

After suffering from a herniated L5 disk for 3 years (which I believe was 2006-2008 but the pain of the injury might have seriously messed up my time line), I gave up sitting and converted to a standing desk. L5 healed, also inter-shoulder pain healed. Never looked back.
