I still think Double Dragon II: The Revenge (NES) has some of the most satisfying combat in a video game, ever.
One of my all-time faves. What a classic beat-'em-up.

Y'know what, that's a worthy reminder. I can't help my pessimistic reflex (are they actually receptive to learning?), but I do agree that people shouldn't be looked down upon for merely not knowing/having been exposed to something.
Also can't help but think of "the lucky 10,000" idea from xkcd.

So there's this German illustrator named Dominic Mayer, and I'm realizing he's one of my favorite artists.
He's not on socials but I love his use of contrast (both in color and in themes, genres), geometry, abstractive, scale... and just *vibes,* really. All the vibes. Very much my jam.

Super Mario RPG is one of those games I know is really great (among the few I've played through multiple times) yet would have difficulty explaining why.
It's really charming? It has heart. It's funny. It's not as intensive of a turn-based RPG. It's colorful? It's Mario-sorta.
