When left-wing American Jews comment on a rise in antisemitism in the US - without ever mentioning Israel or attempting to scapegoat Palestinian solidarity activism - here are some trends over the course of the decade since Trump first ran for President that they are likely referring to:

🖋️ “Vote NO on Linda McMahon for the Department of Education appointment” hit 1,000 signers!
Vote NO on Linda McMahon for the Department of Education appointment
The nomination of Linda McMahon as Secretary of Education poses a grave threat to public education in America. As a billionaire with no relevant experience and an agenda focused on privatizing schools, McMahon is poised to advance policies that will defund and dismantle the public education system that serves 90% of students. Her goals align with Donald Trump's Project 2025 plan to expand voucher programs, which drain resources from public schools and send taxpayer dollars to unaccountable private institutions permitted to discriminate. McMahon will rubber-stamp Trump's extremist vision rather than upholding the Department of Education's critical role in ensuring equal access to quality education for all students, especially those with disabilities and from lower-income communities. We cannot allow McMahon to steal opportunities from vulnerable students, increase class sizes, cut training programs, make college unaffordable, diminish special education services, and jeopardize civil rights protections. For the sake of our nation's future, this unqualified nominee advancing a destructive agenda must be rejected.

This whole thread is important re: schools around holidays. I've talked a lot with my colleagues around inclusion during December - everything is very Christmas themed. As a Jew, it's been frustrating experiencing a lack of cultural sensitivity in a school that claims to care about it.
5 years ago, my friend @mrtomrad.bsky.social tweeted this.

Because I’m a holiday LOVER who had a classroom tree and array of holiday assignments,

I paused and decided to poll my students to gauge their feelings. +
