As far as I can tell that presidential address was about 90 lies and 9.5% misleading half truths. Also, does everyone feel yelled at?

If you know a fact checker who is covering tonight’s national address, be sure to check on them later.

If a foreign adversary snuck into our Federal budget and cut science research and education the way we’re cutting it ourselves — strategically undermining America’s long-term health, wealth, and security — we would likely consider it an act of war.

Our current healthcare system will cost $50T over the next 10 years.

When Fox News and insurance lobbyist-funded politicians say that Medicare for All will cost $32T over 10 years, they're leaving out the part that it's an $18T savings and guarantees all of us high quality healthcare.

How much is it worth to save a life, let alone many? It makes more sense when you consider the possibility that the current administration doesn't think some people fit the definition of the second "H" in HHS.
The federal government plans to eliminate services for LGBTQ youth who call 988, the national suicide and crisis hotline, according to a Health and Human Services budget draft leaked last week.

In February, the program received an average of 2,100 contacts per day.

“DOGE won’t just fall short of Musk’s deficit-reduction goals. It will, in all probability, increase the deficit,” Jonathan Chait writes. Are the deficit-reduction efforts just a pretext for ideological warfare? theatln.tc/0zdiT2Hb
Why DOGE Could Actually Increase the Deficit
Some of Musk’s haphazard cuts will produce tiny savings in terms of salary while forfeiting much larger ones down the road, costing the government money.

📌NOTE: Immediately after the vile attack on Zelensky by Putin's puppets Friday, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries should have called a joint press conference and explained to the American public the significance, heinousness and danger of that sickening surrender.

📌They should STILL be talking now.

My family has paid many visits to our National Parks, National Forests, & National Historic Places. I've seen park rangers teach, serve, & even rescue those who came to commune with the beauty & history of this country. Not once have I encountered a ranger who seemed unkind, much less extraneous.

Trump pardoned the sentence of arguably the single biggest drug trafficker in American history on his second day in office!
Trump: "If you notice, every country that has the death penalty has no drug problem. They execute drug dealers. And when you think about it, it's very humane, because every drug dealer on average they say kills at least 500 people ... I don't know if our country is ready for it. I am ready for it."

Researchers don't include unnecessary terms in their analysis. The only possible outcome here is increased ignorance and injury to public health.
Scientists at the CDC were ordered late on Friday to withdraw any pending publications, at any scientific journal, that mention terms such as “transgender,” “immigrant,” “LGBT” or “pregnant people.”

Trump is casting blame on the air traffic controllers, ahead of any official assessment of the cause of the crash. I can't imagine trying to manage a catastrophe like this with someone in a position of public trust going on TV and offering guesses about the cause. Pettiness making a tragedy worse.

I'd have put a lot of money on this press conference quickly becoming a lecture on how this wasn't his fault, and how all the people he doesn't like are to blame. Most importantly, after paying basic lip service to the tragedy and its victims, it's all about him.

The people who scoffed at calls for climate change mitigation and preparedness are the same as those who now ask why government didn't do more to prevent the California fires, and they'll be the same ones who call proposals to build back with preventative practices, "government overreach."
