The earliest jointly-appointed professor of English and (Computer and) Information Science, to my knowledge, was Sally Sedelow at UNC-Chapel Hill. It was 1966.

To the library’s credit, a member of the library staff emailed me right away and told me that she’d set it aside for me with a note!

Yeah, the Suns were my first instinct too. But I don’t know how stable their newfound chemistry is, nor are they likely to give CP3 a chance for one last deep run.
