Yes! I was a bike commuter + while I do miss my daily rides I don’t miss the aggression of drivers. Also all of the hullabaloo of selecting + ironing my office wear, doing full hair and makeup, packing my lunch, + prepping breakfast as much as possible the night before to save time in the morning.

We were hatching plans for the next spot so there will be some fun in the spring. NALT runs events year round I think if you’re looking for work parties etc. They just announced a native seed starting workshop next weekend at their plant nursery which is the most charming woodland spot…

It was very yay! I was having some ‘no one is going to show up to my party’ feels this week + was proven wrong + have so much appreciation for all the plant + ecosystem nerds in town.

How it started. Laying down some cardboard to hopefully suppress potential weed growth from the seed bank. Only a couple of folks on site at the start but we ended up with about 13 people once the event got rolling. Incredible that we got so much accomplished in just over two hours.

I gently ‘fenced’ the area with bamboo stakes and twine. Hoping that will keep the little plugs protected in general and stop the neighbour who insists on letting their dog take huge shits in the spot. I’ve cleared the site three times since August of their mess!

You failed to mention that Indigenous people are shouldering 20% of your austerity budget cuts.

This is #apartheid in Canada.

Following in your father's footsteps, as predicted.
Carney government cuts unfairly hit First Nations
Budget cuts to Indigenous services violate equality rights and risk legal, moral, and financial consequences.

Based on my neighbourhood’s firework usage, I would say yes? ☹️
