What sad and boring lives these losers live. Remember when they "threatened" taco trucks on every corner? Who the fuck doesn't like tacos?!?

My main thoughts on this are - how lucky we are that my kids get to grow up in such a diverse community. I love the local gyro place, the taco truck, the Guatemalan bakery, etc.

For example, there's a park nearby that has a nice playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, lots of green space & some picnic tables. You know what the Somali-American families do? The adults play basketball or sit around and talk while the kids play at the playground.

Correct. There isn't some amount of "acceptable racism" here.

The constant and successive waves of immigration to the US is a net positive and our country is richer because of it.

My mom's maternal ancestors were Lithuanian Catholics who came to the US in Philadelphia in the early 20th century. You can be damn sure that Eastern Europeans were considered to be dirty and inferior. None of this is new and it's up to us to LOUDLY reject it.

The same racist, xenophobic shit has been said for every wave of immigrants, including ones that are now considered white!

I wish he'd keep my state's name out of his ugly, racist mouth. My community has a large number of Somali-Americans and it's not a problem. I would rather have them as neighbors than racist fools (although there is no dearth of them around here, unfortunately)

I'm sorry what part of "Mass Deportation Now" did they not understand? Yes, a lot of them didn’t think it through... which is exactly the problem.

This is not me saying that we shouldn't keep trying for universal health care; we absolutely should! And yes, Dems should lead on public opinion and not follow. But don't delude yourselves into thinking this is some magic trick to win elections. It is not.

Oh, and the press has failed. There are good journalists out there doing incredible work, but the dominant corporate media loves authoritarians so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
November 27, 2025 at 12:56 PM
Correct. They do not. This will take decades to recover. I'm not convinced we will, in large part because the electorate is so fucking stupid. I couldn't celebrate the recent wins by Dems bc I know the pendulum will swing back for more destruction. Repeat forever.

Yes, because Trump loves dictators and wants to be one.

Democrats should be the party of America restoration, focused on sweeping away every last vestige of Trump's seedy third-world tyranny and exacting cold retribution against people who have betrayed our country and its Constitution for their own self-enrichment

Right, exactly!

Wait, wait, I have one last thing. My PhD adviser was super snobby about the rest of the Midwest. He's from Detroit but told me more than once that he has zero interest in ever visiting MN because "there's nothing worth seeing". BRO.
