In K-dramas there are a lot of depictions of drinking and the drinking culture of korea. K-dramas have over the recent years gained popularity globally. Should K-drama makers consider viewers in countries where drinking is less accepted?

I dont think it is cultural appropriation for chinese, japanese or korean artist to make hip hop. Hip hop is an art form that spans globally. Hip hop in itself is not cultural appropriation, it is about how it is performed.
But why is this conversation not applied to pop and only hip hop?

Why is manga and comics not given much respect by cultural critics in the west? It may stem from assumptions that comics are for children, because historically in the west comics have been marketed towards kids.

Virtual idols are characters that physically exist but are created with animations, AI or cgi, like the vocaloid singer Hatsune Miku and the virtual girlgroup K/DA.
Beside the lack of physical form, there are a lot of differences between virtual and real idols.

After watching the movie Your name engraved herein directed by Patrick Liu, I was left with a lot of thoughts.
To watch this movie, which is based on true stories and experiences, it became more apparent to me how people have struggled with their sexuality and to be accepted in society.

China has implemented restrictions on gaming for children. They have set a three hour limit per week for children under 18, and only allows for gaming between 8 and 9 pm on the weekend. This is out of concern for the health of the children.

I had heard about the coffee culture in Korea before coming here, but I didn't imagine the extent of coffee drinking here. Everywhere I go in Korea there is always a coffee cup insight, especially the iced coffee cups.

By showing and promoting other cultures in popular culture people who usually do not have that much knowledge about different culture can be exposed to it, and then maybe spark an interest in learning more about the culture.
