It's hard to really organise and be reliable when I never know from one day to the next if I will be well enough to leave the house. I am very willing to discuss and provide perspective here, though, where it is somewhat easier for me to interact.

It's an idea, but I am afraid I am just not well enough. I have several serious health issues, including organ damage after fighting cancer. I have too much faitgue and pain to really get involved in any major way, even for causes I truly support. I tend to keep my activism online, where I can cope.

I am glad I have been able to help! I have advocated for UBI for years, but I think a lot of people, even who support it, do not quite grasp what it means. Haing survived on benefits for almost 25 years, I have a different perspective on surviving vs living with large disposable income.

I have a very lovely cis woman friend. She is six ft 3, wears her hair cut short, and often gets mistaken for a man.

She has several kids of her own, and has been surrogate for two sets of twins. This "we can always tell, that's a man" has given birth to six human beings.

But sure, that's a guy...

You want that nice holiday? New car? Want to eat out once a week, or get to that concert? You will need a job. I think people really do not grasp what "basic" means. EVERYONE should have their needs met with foot, shelter, and security. That is not the same as living the high life!

I've made that case many times. I lived well below the poverty line for over a decade, froze in winter, often survived on very little food. I still had benefit income. It isn't enough to live lavishly. People will still have to work! And want to work!

It's certainly a really good analogy. Luck happens, occasionally, but when you watch a true master at work, luck often works AGAINST them. Watching a superb breakbuilder at work fills me with huge respect for their skill and incredible geometric mastery.

I love how he lost it with laughter when he was asked WHY he used that style. "It's... I will keep my style." He couldn't find the English to explain it. He doesn't need to. That "crow caught in a wind tunnel" look works for him. Frankly, with his talent, he can look however he likes!
