Excited to join @ezraklein to talk through what happened in 2024.

There's a turnout story this cycle, but not the one we're used to talking about. With less-engaged and less-likely voters becoming more Republican, a larger turnout meant a more GOP electorate.

It’s extremely important that our party takes this presentation to heart and adjusts our strategy going forward.
Today’s episode of The Ezra Klein Show.

@davidshor.bsky.social walks through what voter data reveals about the 2024 election — and how the American electorate is shifting.

Mark Cuban is our top political strategist and he’s probably paying to be heard.
Dear Dems. This is a reminder that Donald Trump rescinded the ethics rules preventing gifts to executive branch employees.

Now would be a good time to propose legislation formalizing the prevention into a law

Time to do things that make him react to you.

Trump has canceled Biden's ethics rules. Critics call it the opposite of 'drain the swamp'
Donald Trump took office eight years ago pledging to “drain the swamp” of the dominance of Washington influence peddlers.

How about letting Trump do unpopular things and focus on a plan to actually get a lot done in 4 years.
Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive):

1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment*

2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything

3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can

4. Citizens march en mass

Sometimes you have to let your competition fail, especially when they just got the contract.
This is advice every dem politician should take to heart.

Don’t sell against the competition.

Sell what you are doing to reduce people’s stress and make their life better

It’s not about what’s wrong with the competition. It’s about what is right with you
I found that the best way to build a business is to build a relationship with your customers ask how they are doing, how are the kids , how did their dad’s surgery go, show interest in them and mean it because they know what they want

Republicans see podcasts as relaxed and easy interviews with a huge audiences. Democrats need to learn it’s a great opportunity, especially when D policies help more people.
No. The only chance to correct anyone and present facts is right in front of them. Having a discussion with them. Listen to the show I did with them.
It seems like your conclusion is that we live a post-truth world and facts don’t matter. Now what? Do we just have to accept such shittiness? And if so, how can we possibly do good in the world?

Democrat politicians like to come off as super smart elite lawyers when most Americans want issues simply laid out by people are engaging and seem trustworthy.
I'll summarize the whole podcast genre:

" If you are entertaining, people will listen to you and buy what you are selling. Including politics "

They will not check your background, your education or fact check you

It's a podcast. They are trying to kill time. Entertainment sells.
This is the SEMINAL POLITICAL PODCAST of 2025. Podcasts like this are EXACTLY how young men will consume and understand politics.

Dem strategists should study every single second of it and recognize this is their new reality for reaching young men. Guaranteed.

By not focusing on obvious disqualifications, Democrats sound elitist and make Hegspeth appear more qualified.
So the Dems are aligned in using the Hegspeth allegations to oppose him. Dumb.
The man is not qualified for the job. That is all that matters. He has never managed more than 100 people. He won't be the actual one running DOD because he has no clue how.

And this is what the Dems focus on ?

Medical desserts are gonna be a big topic if Trump cuts Medicare and Medicaid. It’s already and issue and would get a lot worse.

We are screwed until fact checking takes less time and energy than generating new content.

Don’t blame the content. Recommendation algorithms are messing us up. Fast and easy dopamine paid for by ads.

The rate that content can be generated is always going to be greater than rate in which it can be fact checked.

Imagine your state invests 1 billion in Bitcoin and then a government employee gets compromised and all the money is stolen. What happens next?
November 28, 2024 at 1:28 PM
Gold is great because it’s hard to take $1 billion dollars of it without an insane heist. With Bitcoin it’s what…writing down 64 characters?
November 26, 2024 at 6:52 AM
If the USA gets a Bitcoin strategic reserve will there be movies where people try to steal the private key?

Crypto is anti-American. It’s choosing a currency other than the dollar instead of making a better dollar.
