Finally got around to seeing Avatar: Fire & Ash. I understand the criticism that it's too similar to TWOW. My biggest issue is that the safe storytelling lets the film's technical prowess down.
There's some breathtaking work on the screen, but the story doesn't support the runtime.

Finally got around to seeing Avatar: Fire & Ash. I understand the criticism that it's too similar to TWOW. My biggest issue is that the safe storytelling lets the film's technical prowess down.
There's some breathtaking work on the screen, but the story doesn't support the runtime.

This channel attempts to cover all art, and great writing is no exception. I had the pleasure of reading Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar over the summer and was so moved by it. The refreshing shift in structure and perspective throughout the book was mesmerizing, and the ending is beautifully rendered.

I love when art taps into something that is nearly impossible to explain with words. The depth of blues here is so rewarding to look at, it tickles the brain. It feels like I'm looking at a memory I didn't remember having.

#WickedForGood is out and I’m curious what people think of this one. The first was a phenomenon, I don’t think the finale reaches the same heights. But this is firmly Ariana Grande’s movie and she’s incredible.
