I’m not a furry, but I find their culture so fascinating. I would love to one day paint a fursona commission, although my preferred painting and illustration styles are very different from the traditional Bluth-esque style prevalent in furry art.

For all its flaws, I think Scarlet and Violet managed to use contemporary slang and internet experiences in the least boomer-shakes-fist-at-sky way possible

But this isn't new to Art. Fluxus, Happenings and Relational Aesthetics have all explored various aspects of human being through non-traditional methods to the point that there's an argument to be made about tradition within conceptual and contemporary art.

Conversely, we may see an increase in pastiche of the machine like how Photorealism or contemporary painters using early computer graphics as inspiration both refer to mass media to comment on the consumer culture of their time. Here’s an AI inspired self portrait.

I think the rise of AI imagery will push artists to explore more real world representational art and non-objective art that can best be experienced by the often neglected senses of smell, taste and touch.

When I was a sprog, I was really into Greek mythology and etymology. I asked my grade 6 English teacher if the word afro came from the same root as Aphrodite — sea foam. She told me it’s probably because Africans can grow afros. Anyway, here’s my Afrodite based on Botticelli’s Birth of Venus.
