Also she was nice enough to use her experience as a fellow service worker to give him an experience he would be happy to remember.

Incredible film, wonderful message. Fantastic subtext.

Erin gets away in the end because she's smart enough to weird that law against him. By asking, "can I get this to go," she invokes the right of the good and considerate customer to leave the premise, and flee back through the wall separating reality from Arcadia.

I'm a huge fan of the fairy king interpretation of the film, where Slowik is a being of law, binding those who enter his realm via the social expectations of etiquette.

I can see what's happening here. They're calling the final location That the model is supposed to end up at, but they're doing it before they swap out the sit animation for the stand up animation. As a result it's instancing the stand animation first and then you see it jump to the correct one.

It's why Stack and Mary arent a vampire apocalypse at the end of the film. They have an authentic culture/identity despite the fact that they've become monsters. The ravenous consumption isn't a guaranteed aspect of this curse.

I'm a big fan of the interpretation where Remmick represents monoculture. You let it in and it will devour your identity as a distinct community/nation/etc. Remmick wants that feeling of authenticity back and will devour the world to get it.

But aside from the little extras, the story is basically done. I had a story I wanted to tell, and I actually did it.

It still needs a few layers of gloss before it's ready to start shopping around. For example, right now I'm rereading it and looking for places to add in lines of the in-world equivalent of spanish to Issagloria's dialogue.

It was more of a chimera, just a whole bunch of different traits mixed up.
