He is a very smart boi

I do need to add a couple words so he can tell me other things he wants. Like clean the litterbox.
November 21, 2025 at 10:16 AM
Oh he also knows "birdies" but we don't need a button for that
November 21, 2025 at 9:49 AM
Sure, but this guy wasn't talking about learning. He was talking about working with professional programmers from silicon valley (he mentioned sililcon valley in a comment)
November 21, 2025 at 9:39 AM
I mean what else do you even need?
November 21, 2025 at 9:38 AM
Like you can have the best game design in the world but it still needs to *function*
November 21, 2025 at 9:30 AM
I did think it was weird there were no quote posts on a post like that, and I guess that's because he's blocking them all.
November 21, 2025 at 9:29 AM
Partially. I don't mind being blocked, but he shouldn't be able to have all criticism hidden by blocking it.
November 21, 2025 at 9:27 AM
See the issue with that is making it good in the first place saves you massive headaches down the road.

And sure I don't have an issue with the part about elitism, but I do about the part where he said code ranks massively below things like community management.
November 21, 2025 at 9:26 AM
And I'm sorry but if you're going to make intentionally inflammatory statements like that, you should be prepared for the tiniest bit of pushback from your obvious over exaggerations.
November 21, 2025 at 9:24 AM
"elitist programmers are an albatross around the neck of indies and I never want to hear another dev feel ashamed that their good game doesn't have 10x engineer code.

good code is a specialization. it ranks so far below game design, narrative, music, art, marketing, community management,"

For reference the post said:

Lol they blocked me because of this.

Come on dude, if you're going to make a statement that coding is the least important, and less important to a game than marketing and community management, at least stand behind your words.
November 21, 2025 at 9:21 AM
Yeah. I'm not saying everything needs to be beautiful, flawless code.

But good code makes everything easier for everyone. Also you can have all the game design in the world, but the game still needs to you know, work.
November 21, 2025 at 9:12 AM
Also like, code is very rarely finished! You need to change and maintain this for a long time. You need to build on it, you need to adapt it and update it.

All of this is made easier the better your code is.
November 21, 2025 at 9:05 AM
Yeah, I feel like people in richer countries and areas tend to forget just how many people game on nothing but a crappy laptop.

My computer isn't even bad, but some indies out there make it explode.
November 21, 2025 at 9:03 AM
And you don't need to optimize every little bit, or adhere to crazy standards, or be a dick about it.

Like is my code "good"? No. Is it flexible for the future and runs fast? Yes. And that's important.

But like, your code being good helps! A lot!
November 21, 2025 at 9:01 AM
But also perfect code just doesn't exist in production, so if you have someone holding out for perfect then fuck that guy.

But good code helps you debug faster, helps you test faster, helps you maintain things down the road easier, and expands your audience.

Good code makes everyones jobs easier.
November 21, 2025 at 8:55 AM
There's a big difference between feedback and directionless insults. The people giving extremely broad comments that tell you nothing while also insulting the devs specifically and not the game can fuck all the way off.

I asked the AI agent we pay a small fortune for to order pizza, but instead it deleted a bunch of tables in the database.

By the way can you look into fixing those?
November 21, 2025 at 12:54 AM
I mean, yeah, I've always loved them both for sure. I've probably played them five or six times each
November 21, 2025 at 12:40 AM
Oh I mean I love the Kotor games. I also realized I just have it on steam so I don't need to play it on Xbox anyway.
