I've been having an almost constant headache since the OSA has been implemented, and it's only gotten worse with every new piece of news.

Trying hard to spend less time online lately, but even then, as soon as I get back on I'm hit with information overload with several new nightmare situations.

I don't think it was k-ID that got hacked though, but I'm not 100% on all of the details yet. Since their face scan was successful on their first try, hopefully they're spared from this nightmare. I'm not in contact with them at this point.

I went through k-ID's page with a fine-tooth comb on their behalf, told them to read it themselves too and make their own decision but that I felt this was the "best" out of a bad bunch, out of all of these that I'd read up on. They ended up verifying themselves.

I take a break from socials for like 5 minutes to watch a film with mum - which was great btw, may talk about it later - and I come back online to find out that the ID verification leak was 1.5 terabytes worth? Over two million passports, driving licences, and selfies have been leaked.

Vans that scan your face,police given greater powers etc they say it's watch dog legion,I say Ubisoft underwrote how far they would go.

Techno-optimism required options,opt in measures, a regulated tech sector and trust.

No one who has seen what these companies do with your data trusts them.

If digital ID is eventually tied to banks and transactions, like Blair wants, then it'll probably be used to debank people eventually as well.

So that's the Test and Trace failure, the Afghan soldiers having personal data leaked, Greater Manchester Police having their Digital IDs leaked almost immediately upon the system being implemented, 8000 children having their data stolen from Kido, the Online Safety Act causing people's passports...

Excel 1997 was used to store data for the Test and Trace scheme, that cost billions, and we're supposed to trust that our government can construct a super state of the art system that is impervious to hacking or human incompetence?
