The predictable event of unchecked techno capitalism.

The predicable result of decades of legislative lobbying

End result of technofudalism were technological olagarchs and the state enforce censorship.

The end form of fascism
Media, technology, communication control.

He has the resources to stay in hiding indefinitely while not loosing out of familiar comforts and life style, the rest of us not so much.

He will be fine

I wonder does he have shock collars for his private guards.

The RIAA was suing teenagers. We had to sit through ⬇️ this shit anytime we wanted to watch a DVD. A whole generation shamed for using Limewire and torrents. Only for these silicone valley assholes to now find copyright infringement a necessary evil they shouldn’t have to answer for
You wouldn’t steal a car

I think the problem is that people consider fascism a destination. It's a movement of ever-increasing rights violations. People are waiting for Zyclon B showers before they allow anyone to call this fascism. Sure fascism is has chambers. But, fascism is everything that comes before and after, too.

The Centaur and the Siren

#webcomic #krita #miniFantasyTheater
A comic strip in four panels:

Panel 1. On a shore, a beautiful mermaid and a young centaur meet. They look at each other.

Panel 2. Close-up portrait of the two protagonists, both look away, blushing.

Panel 3. Later, at sunset, the two admire the sunset together, side by side. They're a couple.

Panel 4. The happy couple watches their two half-human, half-seahorse children playing in the water.
Narrator: A few years later...

Their is something quite beautiful about legislative foresight. You get a front row view of the thing you knew was going to happen and yet when it happens multiple times you are not allowed off the train no matter how bad it gets as long as legislators can weather the complaints we continue suffering

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Twitter feels overwhelming in terms of likes,I feel like bsky is more intimate as it feels like your likes actually count.

Sometimes you don't bother hitting like when something hits eg 7-20k likes "why bother"

Working theory based on my experience on the Fediverse and is a working theory.

The problem with digital ID or age verification laws isn't the tech,it's the infrastructure and the people who control it. The most egalitarian administration could operate it,but it takes one autocratic to abuse us into submission with it. That's why no one wants either to have it. It's a time bomb
devilcereal.bsky.social
like age verification being alot of nothing,it is becoming clear average people need to participate in tech legislation We can no longer operate under the modal of "tech will save us"

I do hope as with chat control age verification is a fight we can win as the infrastructure being planted is scary

Reddit has been pushing for more accredited professionals to answer stuff (basically what Quora tried back in the day) .

And like Quora they miss the fact accredited professionals make more money doing the thing they are accredited for than answering funny internet questions for the cheap.

Vans that scan your face, police given greater powers etc they say it's watch dog legion,I say Ubisoft underwrote how far they would go.

Techno-optimism required options, opt in measures, a regulated tech sector and trust.

No one who has seen what these companies do with your data trusts them.
devilcereal.bsky.social
It's not hysteria,it's reasonable,if not absolutely sanity to not trust these companies or governments. 500k+ signatures ignored, 2.7m+ signatures ignored. It is no longer required to operate assuming good faith. Given the chance to vocalize their support they have opted to ignore and continue.
devilcereal.bsky.social
We are in the end game of rampant tech mergers, corporate consolidations and unchecked data harvesting and yet it is incumbent on the sceptic of tech policies to bring the data for the opposition. I have written 75 page doc against AV laws my opponent,"but it blocks porn so what's the issue"
devilcereal.bsky.social
It's the techno-optimism of the 2010's when companies sold us and I mean sold us the idea tech can cure any and every problem. We just need to give up a lot of data to refine it.

After 2 decades of companies abusing us, heaven forbid we do not trust this snakes with even more data points.
devilcereal.bsky.social
Name calling is all they can offer, don't want your chats scanned "pedo behavior" don't want to give ID to read an article "it probably had porn so it's good you can't read it"

Those that lack foresight are being led to the slaughter, but those using "protect the children",no evidence just platitudes
devilcereal.bsky.social
I do not trust these systems, not even in a tinfoil hat Way,I just don't trust any government with access to this much data.

With the whole paypros thing,I get antsy when centralized systems with opaque rules is the vanguard for change. Chat control has also soured any trust in many nation states.
